The Federation Internationale de Volleyball (FIVB), the international governing body for the sport of volleyball and beach volleyball, manages the Swatch FIVB Beach Volley World Tour. Under the direction of President, Dr. Ruben Acosta H., and Mr. Angelo Squeo, FIVB Beach Volleyball Events Director, the 2007 Swatch FIVB World Tour will visit 23 sites on 4 continents with total prize money of US $8.75 million, the highest prize purse for the sport with equal disbursements for men and women. The 2007 and 2008 Swatch FIVB World Tour will also qualify the top international teams for competition at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. The 2007 Swatch FIVB Beach Volleyball World Championships in Gstaad, Switzerland will offer a record US $1 million in prize money to the top international beach volleyball teams. For the first time, events will be held in Manama (Bahrain), Sentosa (Singapore), Seoul (South Korea), Kristiansand (Norway), and Aland (Finland).
